Senior Fund Accountant will be required to execute the following tasks within the fund accounting or NAV department. Reconciliation, trade capture, processing corporate actions, and pricing are integral parts of the Fund Accountant’s role. They will be required to perform these core tasks accurately, timely, and efficiently. Every Fund Accountant will receive the requisite Induction Training, compulsory AML/KYC training, and optional training. Additional client-specific training will be provided by the NAV Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of daily, weekly, and monthly NAV, ensuring completion of specified tasks per NAV checklists.
  • Perform cash, position, and market value reconciliations between HedgeServ, brokers, and clients.
  • Respond to client queries promptly and efficiently.
  • Identify and investigate break items on reconciliations and liaise with brokers and clients to resolve them.
  • Escalate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Fund Accounting Supervisor.
  • Ensure all positions are correctly priced.
  • Verify corporate actions for accurate processing.
  • Prepare daily profit and loss reports and review for reasonableness.
  • Calculate and process income and expense accruals, including fees and trading accruals.
  • Comply with HedgeServ’s checklists, procedures, and controls.
  • Assist in the audit process if required.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve fund issues.
  • Meet internal and external deadlines consistently.
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability as a Fund Accountant.

Our requirements:

  • Completed Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal, or Business.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the funds industry preferred; hedge fund experience considered.
  • Interest in pursuing professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) is advantageous but not required.
  • IT literate.
  • Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Organized and capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and independent work skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive with good judgment on when to escalate issues.
  • Dependable, reliable, and committed.
