As a Senior Front-End Engineer on our team, you will play a pivotal role in developing a Microsoft Word Add-in that leverages AI language models to assist researchers in authoring and reviewing scientific documents. You will be responsible for transforming an existing React/Next.js application into a native Word Add-in, providing users with seamless, contextual assistance directly within their document creation workflow.

Senior Frontend Engineer

Your responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of a Word Add-in based on an existing React/Next.js application;
• Utilize Office.js and related technologies to build and integrate an interactive side panel in Microsoft Word (both web and desktop versions);
• Collaborate with product, UX, and AI teams to adapt AI-powered features (e.g., summarization, rewriting, navigation) into a performant and user-friendly add-in experience;
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility, responsive design, and secure communication with backend APIs and AI inference services;
• Maintain a modular, testable, and scalable codebase.

Our requirements

• 5 years of experience as a Front-End Developer.
• Hands-on experience building Microsoft Word Add-ins using Office.js and familiarity with the Microsoft 365 platform.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with React, Next.js, or similar modern frameworks.
• Experience integrating with secure APIs and working with asynchronous patterns (e.g., async/await, Redux, Context API).
• A user-centered approach with experience collaborating with UX teams to deliver polished and accessible UI.
