More than 5.3 million people have fled across borders to seek safety in the 1st month since the escalation of conflict in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and over 6.5 million people are reported to be displaced. Reports indicate almost all arrivals in Poland are women and children, including those that are unaccompanied and separated, as well as older persons.To strengthen our capacity to deliver on our mission, we are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership and operational oversight. This role will ensure the program is equipped with a robust financial infrastructure and systems that align with and advance the organization’s mission and strategic vision.As a key member of the Country Program Senior Management Team, will contribute to the development of strategic and operational plans and will be accountable for monitoring and delivering against financial targets through comprehensive analytical reviews. The Senior Finance Manager will oversee financial and accounting policies, ensuring compliance with local laws, U.S. regulations, and donor requirements, while enabling effective program implementation.**Major Responsibilities:**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: **Strategic Planning & Analysis** • Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions. • Analyze and report on the country program’s financial health. • Contribute to the annual strategic planning process.**Controllership** • Ensure compliance with IRC, donor, and local financial policies. • Monitor financial activities and internal controls. • Lead monthly reconciliations and reporting. • Oversee donor financial reports and audits. • Safeguard assets and ensure legal compliance.**Treasury** • Manage bank relations and cash flow forecasting. • Oversee reconciliations and foreign exchange risk. • Ensure timely fund transfers and receivables collection.**Budgeting & Forecasting** • Lead grant budget development and revisions. • Maintain and update the country’s operating budget. • Review actual vs. budget expenditures with leadership.**Staff Management & Training** • Define roles and recruit qualified finance staff. • Conduct performance reviews and support career development. • Deliver finance training to staff across departments. *Key Relationships:* • Reports to: Country Director, Regional Finance Director • Direct Reports: Finance Officer, Partnerships Finance Senior Officer • Internal Contacts: Country Management, HQ Finance, Local Teams **Requirements:**• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s preferred. • Minimum 5 years in finance leadership roles within humanitarian or development settings. • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft 365). • Fluent in English and Polish (C1–C2). • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and communication skills. • Proactive team player with a commitment to staff development.**Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:** • Proven experience in financial leadership within international development or humanitarian organizations. • Strong understanding of donor compliance (e.g., USG, EU, UN). • Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. • Ability to lead and mentor finance teams in complex environments. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality.
