Project description: As an external Finance Expert, you will be embedded within our client’s global pharmaceutical structures. Your role is to bridge the gap between complex financial data and project management, ensuring that large-scale infrastructure initiatives are delivered on budget and provide maximum value. You will act as a key financial advisor to Project Managers and Stream Leads.
Responsibilities
- Finance Business Partnering: Provide end-to-end financial support and advice to Project Managers and PMO, helping them understand the financial implications of their operational decisions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the creation, maintenance, and optimization of project budgets, including detailed Opex, Capex, and Deferred cost management.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis (Budget vs. Actuals), identifying trends and proactively flagging financial risks or opportunities.
- Financial Control & Governance: Ensure all project spend is correctly classified in SAP/Ariba and aligns with global financial policies and accounting standards.
- Decision Support: Prepare financial recommendations and business case updates for quot;Change Requestsquot; (evaluating how project changes impact the bottom line).
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a translator between Global Finance teams and the technical Project Management Office (PMO).
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting and tracking tools to increase transparency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 6–8 years in Finance/Controlling, with a strong focus on Project Finance or Capex management (preferably in a global or IT/Infrastructure environment).
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SAP (FI/CO/PS) and Ariba. Mastery of MS Excel is a must.
- Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of accruals, cost classification (Opex/Capex), and financial planning cycles.
- Professional Certification: Part-qualified or qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) will be a significant advantage.
- Mindset: A "Business Partner" approach – the ability to not only provide data but also to explain the "why" behind the numbers.
- Languages: Fluent English (C1/C2) for daily collaboration with global stakeholders.
