Background:

Our dream at HEINEKEN is to help our customers grow by serving them better, faster, and smarter with digital solutions. The last few years have seen a significant increase in the importance of digital solutions in the Commerce area at Heineken. These IT solutions have become a vital component in supporting the companys revenue. To ensure that this trend is supported and the IT in this area continues to grow, the new Commerce DevOps Hub is being established. The newly created organization, being an integral part of the Global Digital & Technology Function, is tasked with maintaining, but most importantly developing (functionally and technologically) IT solutions supporting the Commerce area at Heineken. Commerce DevOps Hub is located in Kraków and will include highly qualified IT professionals with direct contribution to both the technological development of the Heineken Commerce and the Hub itself.

As the Senior Engineering Manager, your role is to oversee a team, developing in-house scalable Order Management Solution (OMS), guiding technical strategy and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You champion Agile methodologies like Scrum, collaborate closely with other DevOps teams for efficient development pipelines. You drive excellence in engineering practices to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the software development lifecycle in our E-Business landscape, contributing to HEINEKEN International’s Evergreen strategy. You will work directly with the Product Owner(s) and Product Architect(s), understanding the business needs and helping Product Architect(s) to convert those needs into solution architecture specifications and services in line with overall engineering standards and roadmaps. The role reports directly to the Technology Manager

You will work daily - in strong distributed and async manner - with:

• your SDE Leads, SDEs, QA Engineers and Business Analysts to deliver OMS.
• Product Owners, our Lead Architect, other tribe SDE Leads on direction.
• report into Technology Manager Order.
• team locations will be Poland and India.
• cross-functional teams to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver on commitments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• own the Software Development Engineering (SDE) organization that is delivering Order Management Solution (OMS), our new global digital backend for all digital order taking. Orchestration € XX billion in Heineken revenue per annum
• lead a team of experienced SDE Leads, and their SDEs in designing, developing, and delivering scalable, reliable, and high performing order management solution
• hire, onboard, mentor, and develop top engineering talents, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• drive operational excellence, including code reviews, design reviews, testing, and deployment processes, to ensure high-quality software delivery
• as frontrunner, elevate the Engineering build / ship mindset in HEINEKEN
• overseeing team spirit, performance and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth & development
• implement good practices, coding standards and modern architecture for DevSecOps
• coordinate software development and address technical debt
• form a view on GenAI application in our SDE practice
• manage team budgets, incl. outsourcing partners
• organize and / or participate in hackathons

You are a good match if you have:

• 8+ years of experience in the similar role
• have demonstrated experience in leading multiple teams of SDE Leads, and SDEs
• have knowledge of and experience in D365 Commerce technology
• believe in headless architecture setups and the composable MACH software movement
• work withing set Enterprise Architecture guidance and boundaries
• have worked in modular architecture, microservices, etc.
• can work with Azure teams to comprise the best infra setup
• can influence stakeholders as well as balance views
• pragmatic, and collaborative team player
