Our client is an American company with an established position in the market that has served for over 20 years. They help SaaS businesses grow, scale and reach their full potential. By joining them, youll work on specific products from their growing portfolio. The products are designed for several sectors: one is a property management app, and the second is a mobile application connecting long-haul truck drivers.

Were looking for a Senior Engineering Manager with extensive expertise in Java and a strong grasp of Agile and Scrum methodologies. The ideal candidate would also possess broad knowledge or interest in unconventional architectures, such as full-stack applications (Node.js, serverless, GraphQL). We seek a strategic thinker and problem solver to lead our development team in Kraków, Poland, and drive the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The candidate should have a proven track record in both startup environments (0-1 stage) and scaling fast-growing systems, along with excellent leadership and project management skills.

Location : Krakow - hybrid (3x/week from the office on Al. Pokoju)

Recruitment process:

1. 1st interview with Krakow team (1h)
2. 2nd technical interview with the Product Team (1h)
3. 3rd interview with the Product Manager (45 minutes)
4. Final meeting with the CTO (45 minutes)

Responsibilities

• Manage the full software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
• Lead, mentor, and guide the development team across multiple projects, implementing best practices for development, testing, and deployment.
• Solve complex engineering challenges by balancing time, cost, efficiency, and real-world requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to align on strategy, roadmap, and process improvements to boost productivity.
• Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability within the team.
• Conduct performance evaluations and one-on-one meetings to support team members professional growth.
• Partner with HR to recruit and hire top-tier talent to strengthen the team.

Requirements

• Proven track record in system development from 0 to 1, with experience in large-scale or complex software systems.
• Strong grasp of Agile and Scrum methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Extensive experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and infrastructure as code tools.
• Skilled in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) with experience in performance optimization.
• Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate with stakeholders effectively.
• Familiarity with serverless infrastructure, mobile development, and full-stack applications is a plus.
• Up-to-date with industry trends, showcasing strong leadership, decision-making, and technical expertise.
• Exceptional English and Polish communication (written and verbal).
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
