Loftyworks

LoftyWorks is a comprehensive prop-tech software solution that simplifies property management through various tools, including CRM automation and customer communication. It facilitates efficient operations, property portfolio management, and offers top-tier financial management, with seamless integration with Xero. Developed since 2019, LoftyWorks is a result of collaboration between Lofty, a major US prop-tech company, and a prominent UK outsourcing firm. It combines the extensive experience of both companies to bring the best practices from the UK and US real estate sectors into one platform.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager with in-depth knowledge of Java and a solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies. We prefer the candidate who also has a broad knowledge/interest in non-conventional architecture, such as full stack application (node.js/serverless/graph QL). We are looking for a strategic thinker/problem solver who can lead our development team in Kraków, Poland and execute high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate should have experience of both working in a 0-1 environment and fast scaling systems, with excellent leadership and project management skillset.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the entire software development process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
2. Lead, mentor, and guide the software development team to deliver on multiple concurrent projects. Implement best practices for software development, testing, and deployment methodologies.
3. Identify and lead the team to solve challenging engineering problems, pursuing a balanced solution with time/cost/efficiency and real-world requirements.
4. Collaborate closely with Product Managers to align on product strategy and roadmap. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
5. Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability within the team. Conduct regular performance evaluations and one-on-one meetings to support the professional growth of your team members.
6. Collaborate with HR to recruit and select top-tier talent to enhance the teams capabilities.

Requirements:

1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of engineering management experience, with a strong desire to build first-class engineering projects.
3. Proven experience in building systems from 0 to 1 and experience working on either large-scale systems or complicated business software systems.
4. Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
5. Extensive experience with public cloud environments such as AWS and GCP.
6. Experience in infrastructure as code, familiar with at least one IaC, such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or Pulumi.
7. Experience with user interface design, database structures, and statistical analyses.
8. Familiarity with the mechanisms of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, with extensive experience in optimizing database performance.
9. Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions.
10. Ability to mentor software engineers, as well as to collaborate with all stakeholders.
11. Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
12. Knowledge of best practices related to data encryption and cybersecurity, with a strong sense of security awareness.
13. Familiarity with mobile development and serverless infrastructure is a plus.
14. Familiarity with full stack applications is a plus.
15. Ability to keep up with software industry trends and innovation.
16. Strong leadership and decision-making skills with a solid technical background.
17. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach.
18. Exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written.
