Danfoss Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Controls (RAC) is looking for a forward-thinking Senior Engineer Design for Excellence to join our small Design to Quality team as we develop new ways of working and developing our products. You will work from Grodzisk but cooperating globally with our sites in Denmark, Germany, China, India and Mexico. We are talking about a cross-functional environment with many different stakeholders like design teams, engineering, quality, procurement and manufacturing. You can expect to travel up to 20% of your time.

It will be an advantage, if you have experience with methodology/tools such as AIAG core tools, DMAIC, DFSS, VDA, APQP, Agile connected to IATF 16949 mindset and experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles as well as reliability software such as Minitab or Reliasoft.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Emphasize and support correct use of design tools such as SFMEA, DFMEA, DFA, DFM, Qualification plan, Lesson learnt in project environment, working closely together with project teams and application engineers.
2. Drive reliability engineering activities in our product development projects and identify application/ product risks as well as failure mechanisms, early in the process as part of technology development.
3. Act as interface between the design team and the regional procurement, manufacturing and quality organization.
4. Lead and conduct design quality reviews and recommend pass or no-pass.
5. Ensure customer specific requirements are observed and quality targets are aligned with customer expectations.
6. Review deliverables/documentation for New Product Development (e.g. requirements, specifications, tests plans, test results, traceability, design reviews, reports, etc.).
7. Support global reliability process and guidelines including re-use of templates and considerations of lesson learnt. Facilitate design to cost workshops and drive the related mindset.
8. Share best practices and proactively coach the teams to be successful in accordance to specified requirements.
9. Participate in global activities in Design Quality and Reliability community.
10. Identify improvement areas and communicate to R&D and Engineering managers.
11. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in DfX methodologies.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

• Bachelor or similar education with a technical background.
• Experience in quality assurance/design of industrial or automotive products (proven skills on Reliability and RCPS techniques & analytical tools).
• Proven experience with technology or product development.
• Experience in teaching, coaching and mentoring.
• A proactive approach to spotting and communicating problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
• Experience with cross cultural teams in multiple locations.
• Ability to work from one location supporting others.
• Fluent and comprehensive English.
