Tasks

We are looking for a Senior Quantitative Energy Analyst to join us. Together with you we want to support the energy market of the future; we will:

• Build forecasting models for natural gas and power portfolios.
• Analyse energy portfolio risks and seek risk mitigation techniques.
• Work cross-commodity on power and natural gas supply & demand side projects.
• Understand the renewable energy impact as well as the conventional energy value chain and deduce relevant conclusions to support a stable and renewable energy market in Europe.
• Use Excel, Python, PowerBI, PowerPoint, and other tools to gather, prepare, analyse the energy market, and present our results.
• Present and discuss your results.
• Mentor a junior team member we are currently seeking.

Requirements

• University background in a quantitative or economic field (Bachelor, Master, PhD).
• In-depth understanding of the mechanisms of the European energy market and a strong interest in staying at the forefront of future developments of conventional and alternative energies (power-to-x, batteries, hydrogen, ...).
• Comfortable handling stochastic processes, e.g., geometric Brownian motion & Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes.
• Hands-on attitude (yes, there will also be csv files).
• Strong in preparing and presenting structured data analyses (PowerPoint, Python, NumPy, Plotly, ...).
• Business fluency in English is a must; knowledge of/interest in learning another European language is very welcome.
• Ability to work in a hybrid/remote setup (we love it, but not everybody is made for it) and ideally you have worked in such a setup before.
