Team Leader Product Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer specialized in Medium Voltage Drives to join our passionate and growing drive Quality & Reliability team in Aleksandrów Łódzki, Poland.

Our mission is to assure superb quality and reliability for our products. We do that by analyzing each and every failed part, uncovering the failure causes through hardware and data analysis and proposing solutions to make each drive that leaves our factory, better than the one before.

We collaborate daily in a global environment and work closely with the respective research & development, product engineering, customer support, supplier chain and production functions.

Your responsibilities

• Analyze failed parts and subsystems to identify the point of failure.

• Develop hypotheses about the failure mechanism that may have caused the failure.

• Design experiments and analyze data to prove or disprove your hypotheses.

• Describe the root cause of failure by assessing the information you collected.

• Propose design and specification changes to eliminate the failure modes you uncovered.

• Collaborate with global ABB experts from system design, control hardware, quality and reliability and other functions.

• Collaborate with component manufacturers, external laboratories and universities.

• Work closely with product engineering team to develop solutions for current and future products.

• Work closely with our suppliers

Your background

• M.Sc. in electrical engineering or a related field

• Prior work experience in electrical design, quality & reliability or electrical testing functions

• Experience in the field of medium voltage power electronics or transformers

• Experience in testing electric circuits or PCBAs will be an asset

• Experience in technical writing

• Good command of English

• Analytical mindset and well versed in the application of the scientific method
