Job Purpose

The Senior Director, Head Clinical Process Management is accountable for the landscape of clinical processes across Global Clinical Operations, ensuring a comprehensive, streamlined, compliant network aligned with GCO strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and articulate a strategic vision for clinical process management for GCO and lead the definition of organization‑wide goals for clinical process optimization, effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Process Sponsorship: Lead the optimization of our clinical trial processes addressing regulatory requirements, audit/inspection/quality findings, and new technologies to deliver best‑in‑class outcomes.
  • Process Governance & Direction: Drive process governance & oversight across GCO ensuring process consistency, compliance, effectiveness and end‑user friendliness.
  • Excellence in Continuous and Transformative Process Improvement: Guide teams on leveraging data and insights and applying disciplined yet agile process improvement and change management methodologies to deliver initiatives that reliably deliver desired business impact.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Inspire and lead a GCO‑wide cross‑functional network of Global Process Owners, driving collaboration across teams and senior stakeholders to align on clinical process goals and priorities.
  • People Leadership & Development: Inspire, lead, and develop a global team of direct reports to deliver on objectives, excel in their roles, and foster a culture of empowerment, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership within GCO Excellence: As a member of the GCO Excellence Leadership Team, co‑drive and co‑develop the operational excellence agenda for GCO for successful delivery of clinical studies and the R&D pipeline.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of clinical development with in-depth knowledge of clinical trial processes, clinical systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Significant expertise in continuous improvement and process transformation projects, strong understanding of process improvement and change management methodologies.
  • Full awareness of the larger ecosystem we operate in with a very good understanding of industry and technology trends and opportunities.
  • Strong strategic thinker with an ability to translate high‑level objectives into actionable plans and practical outcomes.
  • Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with a focus on building relationships across functions.
  • Passionate about improving healthcare delivery and clinical processes to enhance patient outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Healthcare Management, or a related field or MBA.
