For a client in the banking industry we are looking for the following position Senior Devops Engineer.

Our team (XiP) is responsible for delivering both backend and frontend services to the banks trading desks and corporate users in the worlds largest financial markets and exchanges in New York, London and other major financial centres.
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities, including building our infra/solution adoption capabilities in the public cloud and integrating our applications with various cloud services to improve platform scalability.
The overall objective of this role is to make significant contributions to the integration of infrastructure pipelines as code pipelines and native cloud services, with a particular focus on delivering robust technology solutions to XiP customers.

What we expect

• Proven experience in creating devops solutions in enterprise container platforms, suchas the public cloud Kubernetes Services in Amazon Web Services / Google Cloud
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in microservice architecture and container technologiessuch as Docker, Podman and Kubernetes.
• SME in Kubernetes related technologies such as S3, EFS, Lustre FSx, Kubernetescluster autoscaler, Karpenter and KEDA.
• In-depth knowledge in using tools such as Terraform, Helm, kubectl, Hashicorp vault.
• Great understanding in managing vulnerability and maintaining strong security forapplications and services running in public cloud.
• Investment Banking / High Performance Compute platform experience would be anadvantage.
• Experience in Java programming and the Spring framework would be an advantage.
• Understanding of agile software development approach and experience in usingdeveloper tools such as Github, Bitbucket, JIRA, Artifactory and Jenkins.
• In-depth experience in analysing application metrics using observability tools such asSplunk, Elasticsearch and Grafana is highly desirable.

Your tasks

• Collaborate with application developers in XiP, Tech and Infrastructurecolleagues and 3 rd party public cloud vendors to bring relevant public cloud infra andservices into Bank in a timely fashion
• Work closely with Cloud Security team to ensure public cloud services undergoproper evaluations speedily, with business priorities upheld.
• Partner with multiple teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet ourbusiness and technology goals.
• Identify and define necessary system enhancements to improve current processes andarchitecture.
• Provide expertise and advanced knowledge in DevOps engineering and ensure ourprocesses adhere to best practices and the firm’s strategic tech plan.
• Perform support tasks such as troubleshooting with clients and working withproduction support to triage production stability issues.
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and developinnovative solutions.
