Summary: 

Join us as a leading technical contributor to the enhancement and maintenance of one or more Charles River IMS modules or components of an agile scrum team. Be a part of strategic development projects and contribute to mission-critical optimization, resiliency, and performance improvement work for our clients. Collaborate with engineering, product, QA and sales teams to drive the platform innovation and modernization.

This job is a hybrid role with at 3 days in the office per week, which you can perform from our offices in Krakow and Gdansk.

Minimum Salary:​

zł282,000 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​​

What we are looking for

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with enterprise applications backed with RDBMS databases
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Architect or in a similar role supporting enterprise applications
• Extensive hands-on experience in RDBMS and distributed data platforms as a database developer
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot and resolve database related issues
• Proficiency in SQL performance tuning in MS SQL Server
• Strong track record of building high performance, production quality software on schedule
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To have

• Expert experience with hardware sizing and configuration, operating systems, scripting, and database technologies
• Experience in NoSQL databases is preferred
• Experience with cloud database services such as Azure SQL Database
• A minimum of 7 years working with an Agile development methodology strongly desired
• Experience with developing applications for the financial markets is a plus (Fixed Income, Trading, FX, Risk, Portfolio/Wealth Management, Market Data, FIX, etc.)

,[Database Design and Architecture, Design and implement scalable, performant and highly available distributed database solutions, Collaborate with peers across scrum teams to design and deliver database design conforming to database best practices and meet business and application requirements, Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database design, data models, configurations, and processes, Database Development and optimization, Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and script to support application development, Optimize performance through indexing, SQL query optimization, and other database tuning techniques, Monitor database performance metrics, analyze and identify bottlenecks, and recommend short-term and long-term solutions, Collaborate with engineering teams to define performance test strategy, and develop toolsets to generate synthetic datasets for effective and repeatable performance tests, Implement and manage database security, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, Database Administration, Collaborate with production DBA team to troubleshoot and resolve database production issue in timely manner, Monitor and maintain database health to ensure data integrity, availability, and disaster recovery, Perform database installation, configuration, and upgrades in lower environments, Collaboration and Leadership, Provide thought leadership on the topic of database technologies and data modeling within and beyond the team’s scope of responsibility, Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, SaaS Operation, support, and implementation, to ensure seamless integration of database systems, Provide technical mentorship to junior database engineers Requirements: RDBMS, SQL, Performance tuning, MS SQL Server, Communication skills, NoSQL, Cloud, Azure SQL Database Additionally: Medical Care and Insurance, Well-Being Programs, Financial Well-Being, Holidays and Time Off, Supporting Families.
