Summary:

The Senior Database Consultant plays a pivotal role in managing, optimizing, and enhancing the performance of customer databases, while contributing actively to project-related tasks and ensuring high standards in database administration and problem resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Database architecture and design: Creating and optimizing database structures.

• Project involvement: Contributing to database-related aspects of various projects.

• Implementation: Applying database changes and updates as needed.

• Incident resolution: Troubleshooting and resolving complex database issues.

• Documentation: Maintaining clear and up-to-date records of database systems.

• Manage, optimize, and scale customer databases hosted both on-premises and in Microsoft Azure.

• Participate in project-related tasks, such as onboarding new customer databases.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents.

• Implement customer change requests.

• Proactively work to improve customer delivery.

• Take ownership of problem tickets, recommending and implementing solutions.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Strong SQL Server database administration experience.

• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Experience with database design, development, and implementation .

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).

• Experience with Always on and cluster technologies .

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to Haves:

• Certifications in SQL Server administration.

• Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL Database).

• Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.

• Knowledge and experience with backup systems.

• Basic understanding of compute virtualization technologies.
