What youll do and what we offer

The key responsibilities are:

  • Ensure availability and security of RDS databases for Modular Account Solution SaaS clients
  • Maintain and optimize Oracle database configuration, storage, and archival with a critical focus on performance management and cost savings
  • Performance analysis & process tuning in partnership with our development and architecture teams
  • Oracle database monitoring, manage user access, and support ticket resolution and reporting
  • Ensure adherence to controls and security in all lifecycle phases by acting as a key point of contact in Aptitude MAS Cloud Service squad
  • Maintain technical documentation to ensure consistency across Modular Account Solution products
  • Provision, configure, maintain, and support single/multi-tenanted Enterprise Edition databases utilized by our applications and solutions in Aptitude Cloud Service environments running on AWS/Azure
  • Own, manage, automate Oracle database backup, cloning, and disaster recovery events & procedures
  • Actively develop automated provisioning and configuration processes

What were looking for

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes & experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Oracle database administration as a DBA
  • “Can do” attitude with a good sense of humor
  • Teamwork spirit with a basic knowledge of agile methodology (kanban)
  • Experience managing live production databases at an enterprise and/or SaaS level
  • Good knowledge of both database and program code performance tuning, understanding execution plans, use of statistics
  • Strong SQL/PL SQL experience
  • Knowledge of Linux and scripting (shell, Python)
  • Experience operating Oracle databases in a public cloud
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate cross time zone collaboration and customer specific release windows
  • Educated to degree level or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Very good spoken and written English

Advantageous Skills:

  • Experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS
  • Experience with AWS Relational Database Service (RDS)
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Delivery tools and processes
  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles will be a big plus
