About the project

Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting policies which cover HSBC’s regulatory requirements and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the Communication Surveillance team in developing AI/ML models, analytical solutions and ensuring governance for developed solution. The role involves analyzing large scale unstructured data (text / audio etc.) leveraging tool such as Python, PySpark and GCP services like BigQuery, Dataproc etc., the responsibilities also include development of AI products by capitalizing classical Machine Learning (ML) / Deep Learning (DL) and pre-trained GenAI models (Gemini/GPT/Llama etc.).
  • Drive independent analysis to support business decisions and Identify gaps / improvement areas for further improvements.
  • Structured approach in identifying anomalies in data and create Data quality frameworks to improve data flow process.
  • Work closely with project enablers (IT / business teams) for solution development and deployment. Basic Knowledge of data engineering and architecture is a plus.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
  • Provide project management support on compliance-related projects and initiatives to ensure they progress toward a common goal in alignment with agreed timelines.
  • Support production of any periodic governance reports wherever applicable leasing with different teams within an outside of the analytics team.Create and deliver analytical solutions that are fully documented and explained that meet the business aims/requirements.
  • Identify, monitor and mitigate top and emerging risks and ensure Senior Management awareness.

Our requirements

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Data Science or ML Engineers with first hand solution development using different programming languages like - Python, Spark, SQL, Biq Query.
  • Holds minimum of a Master degree in Statistics/ Economics/Mathematics / Data Science / Technology or Graduate degree in Engineering (Computer Science / Electronics & Communication).
  • Well-developed communications, analytical, and organizational skills. Strong analytical and verbal /written skills to articulate results of complex analysis/report findings.
  • Experience with HSBC Risk, Finance and Compliance is a plus. Proven ability to accomplish high-level objectives in the context of annual business and compliance plans.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point) and working on Tools like Python, SQL is a must and working on other Tools like Pyspark, GCP is preferred.
  • Experience and understanding of regulatory landscape is an added advantage.
  • Proven ability in Stakeholder Management and working experience in project management area is an added advantage.
