We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedSenior Data Conversion Engineer to join our internal data conversion team. Inthis role, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of complexdata transformation processes, ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and securityof our data operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams,mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of ourdata conversion methodologies.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand complex data requirements and translate them into effective and efficient transformation workflows.
2. Write, review, and maintain SQL-based data transformation scripts, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and performance.
3. Utilize advanced Python programming skills to automate data transformation tasks and develop reusable code components.
4. Apply advanced object-oriented programming principles to design and implement modular, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
5. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within data transformation processes, implementing proactive measures to enhance system reliability.
6. Lead code reviews, providing guidance and feedback to maintain high-quality coding standards across the team.
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in data transformation processes, tools, and methodologies.
8. Ensure data security and compliance with company policies and industry regulations, leading efforts to implement best practices.
9. Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, and driving team success.

Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
2. Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in data transformation, data engineering, or a related field. Proven experience leading data transformation projects and mentoring junior team members.
3. Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in SQL and a deep understanding of relational database concepts. Extensive experience with dbt-core, including designing, implementing, and optimizing dbt projects. Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes. Proficient in version control systems, particularly Git, with experience in managing branching strategies and code reviews. Advanced Python programming skills with a strong understanding of object-oriented design and development.
4. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of resolving complex technical issues. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams. High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new tools, processes, and technologies.
5. Methodologies: Deep understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies.
