We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our client (pharmaceutical area) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing and ETL processes. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our organizations data needs. Having experience with Snowflake and AWS is highly desirable as we use these technologies extensively in our data infrastructure.

You will be working remotely for the German Digital, Data & IT department located in Mainz. Therefore, you must expect that, core meetings or workshops occasionally take place in Warsaw or Mainz office.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of data to stakeholders
• Develop and maintain data warehouse architecture and data models to support business intelligence and analytics needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and consistency
• Develop and maintain documentation for data infrastructure and processes
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes

Qualifications and background

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with Snowflake data warehouse platform
• A good understanding of DevOps and agile development principles and experience in applying them in your daily work
• Strong programming skills with Python and SQL
• The ability to understand complex technical matters, form an educated opinion, and communicate with impact to a variety of stakeholders with different levels of technical expertise
• Experience with building data pipelines, creating complex data transformations, automatic data testing, building deployment flows
• Fluent spoken and written English is a prerequisite
• Knowledge of DBT (Data Build Tool) is considered an advantage.
• Experience working in a regulated industry is an advantage
