About the project

This role is part of a strategic banking transformation initiative focused on modernizing approximately a dozen .NET applications and MSSQL databases into a modular, cloud-native Azure architecture. The goal is to build a modern, data-centric platform that centralizes data flows, reporting, and analytics to support enterprise decision-making and regulatory requirements.

The environment includes ASP.NET MVC/Razor, legacy Angular, WPF, WinForms, Windows Services, SSIS, and modern Azure services.

Sounds like your kind of challenge?

Your responsibilities

  • Design & build data pipelines: Implement and maintain enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related Azure services.
  • Migrate & modernize ETL: Upgrade legacy ETL/ELT processes (including SSIS) and migrate pipelines to the cloud.
  • Batch & streaming processing: Develop and operate both batch and near-real-time/streaming workflows.
  • Data warehouse & lake design: Design and evolve Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures (dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas).
  • Database performance & operations: Optimize and manage MS SQL Server / Azure SQL for reliability and performance.
  • Reporting & integration support: Modernize reporting stacks (SSRS, Crystal Reports) and integrate data from APIs, files, and secure sources (e.g., CyberArk, SFTP).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with .NET/API teams to enable secure and reliable data flows.
  • Architecture & documentation: Contribute to solution and data architecture and maintain Solution Design Documentation (SDD).
  • Data quality & governance: Ensure compliance with data quality, governance, and banking security standards.
  • Analytics support: Assist with Power BI data models, refresh strategies, and performance tuning.
  • Note: Detailed project information will be shared during the recruitment process.

Our requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Databases: Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL Server / Azure SQL.
  • ETL / ELT: Proven experience designing, building, and migrating ETL/ELT using Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
  • Reporting: Experience with SSRS and Crystal Reports; ability to modernize legacy reporting.
  • Azure Data Services: Practical experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake / ADLS Gen2.
  • Data Warehouse Design: Solid understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehouse concepts.
  • SQL & Performance: Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and performance tuning.
  • Architecture & Documentation: Ability to design end-to-end data solutions and produce SDD.
  • Data Pipelines: Experience building enterprise-scale pipelines for batch and streaming.
  • Governance & Security: Knowledge of data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaboration: Experience integrating data from multiple sources and working with backend teams.
  • Power BI: Familiarity with Power BI data models and performance optimization.

Optional

  • Azure Databricks & Apache Spark for large-scale processing.
  • Experience migrating legacy ETL/reporting to the cloud.
  • Knowledge of .NET ecosystem and API integration patterns.
  • Experience with secure data sources (CyberArk, SFTP).
  • Streaming or near-real-time data processing.
  • CI/CD for data platforms and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
  • Cloud cost optimization strategies.
