Ready to help build a better future for generations to come?
In an ever-changing, fast paced world, we owe it to ourselves and our future generations to live life responsibly. At ROCKWOOL, we work relentlessly to enrich modern living through our innovative stone wool solutions.

Join us and make a difference!

Would you like to join a Danish-founded global company with ambitious growth plans? Do you want to support sustainability, reduce energy and resource consumption, reduce time to market, and improve customer insights?
The ROCKWOOL® Group is the world’s leading supplier of innovative products and systems based on stone wool, improving the environment and the quality of life for millions of people. We recognize that each one of us is original and different. Diversity and inclusion are in our DNA and are key drivers for innovation.
We have recently embarked on a journey towards greater digitalization and automation, leveraging data more effectively—and this is where your expertise comes into play.

What you will be doing:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our newly established Data Platform Team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable data pipelines, and maintaining data warehouses and data lakes using modern stacks. You will integrate data from various sources, ensuring the quality and integrity of our data. Additionally, you will collaborate with data scientists, BI developers, business analysts, and citizen developers.

Currently, we are looking for someone to manage data from sensors in factories around the world as we enhance our platform to meet the growing demand for high-quality data. You should expect to work with other data platforms, tech stacks, and new initiatives coming into our team. Our company is tech-agnostic, always seeking the best tools for specific challenges.

Who we are
We are the world leader in stone wool solutions. Founded in 1937 in Denmark, we transform volcanic rock into safe, sustainable products that help people and communities thrive. We are a global company with more than 12,200 employees, located in 40+ countries with 51 manufacturing facilities… all focused on one common purpose – to release the natural power of stone to enrich modern living.

Sustainability is central to our business strategy. ROCKWOOL was one of the first companies to commit to actively contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework and are actively committed to 11 SDGs, including SDG 14, Life Below Water. Through our partnership with the One Ocean Foundation and in connection with our sponsorship of the ROCKWOOL Denmark SailGP team, we will help raise awareness around ocean health challenges in an effort to accelerate solutions to protect it.

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering focused on data integration, ETL, and data warehousing,
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark,
  • Experience with data platforms like Databricks and Snowflake,
  • Strong data modeling skills,
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions on Azure,
  • Understanding of data architecture principles, designs, and solutions,
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills,
  • Entrepreneurial spirit to build something new from scratch.

Big Advantages:

  • Understanding Kafka,
  • Familiarity with data pipelines tools like Airflow and Boomi,
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases,
  • Certificates to proof your experience,
  • A Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science, Natural Science, Engineering, or a related field.
