Senior Corporate Actions Manager – AVP

Role Purpose: An excellent opportunity has arisen at the AVP level within Corporate Actions which involves carrying out a high-risk function within the operation. The successful candidate’s responsibilities primarily include managing Corporate Actions posting teams, ensuring timely and accurate processing of client Corporate Actions instructions and accounting transactions in Investment Books of Records (IBOR) for respective allotted clients for Global market events within a Middle Office or Custody environment. This will also involve working closely with Global (Sub) Custodians around the instruction confirmation and entitlement collection processes on behalf of a diverse client base.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in Asset Servicing domain specialized in Corporate Actions processing
  • Provide operational support and handle escalations from daily operations
  • Lead Corporate Actions teams
  • Represent Corporate Actions in project meetings with clients and other State Street business lines
  • Drive data-centric operations and control through robust governance to ensure service excellence
  • Collaborate with Business and Global Operations leads identifying resources required to support & deliver transition/change management projects
  • Identify, evaluate, and track progress of project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating them appropriately with suggested mitigation approaches
  • Identify opportunities for product automation based on project timeline, service requirements, and products offered
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Track project milestones and deliverables
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Estimate the resources, timescales, and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with managers, team members, and other stakeholders
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise direct reports and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Understand, follow, and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal policies and procedures and provide input to the further development of best practices
  • Collaborate with appropriate teams globally to ensure consistent service delivery, client solutions, and client satisfaction
  • Identify, develop, and deploy process improvements leading to service level improvements and/or unit cost & operational risk reduction

Key Knowledge/Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven track record of related industry experience in Asset Servicing, Corporate Actions, Custody, Income
  • 7-10+ years of experience in staff management and leading projects
  • Working at a senior level in an organization with the capability of communicating effectively at all levels
  • Experience in matrix structures and cross-cultural environments with an ability to operate independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in business discipline preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent command of the English language; excellent communication skills

Skills/Competencies:

  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail a must
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills when dealing with customers (internal or external) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills
  • Knowledge of State Street systems/processes preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in developing executive communication preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Word; advanced expertise in MS Excel
