Senior Consultant – biogas and waste-to-X

Location: Warsaw, Poland (Ramboll Poland office). The team is predominantly based in Denmark, but you will be physically located in Warsaw.

Job Description

• Develop process design, layout, mass and energy balances, and process flow diagrams for new biogas/biomethane plants.
• Participate in due diligences for biogas and other waste‑to‑X technologies such as gasification, pyrolysis, sorting and fermentation.
• Provide expert advice on feedstock mix, plant expansion, biogas upgrading, digestate handling, and sustainability practices to biogas and waste‑to‑X clients.
• Advise investors and banks on technical input to business cases, plant robustness, optimization possibilities, CAPEX and OPEX, and future technical investment needs.
• Understand market trends, policy developments, and regulatory changes affecting the bioenergy industry.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, concept development, basic engineering, tender document development, procurement processes, contract negotiations, construction monitoring, commissioning, and guarantee follow‑up for biogas/biomethane and waste‑to‑X production plants.
• Increase technical knowledge through projects and participation in relevant technical competence team activities.

About You

• MSc or BSc in chemical, biological, energy, process or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of biogas/biomethane production processes, feedstock logistics, digestate handling, and sustainability standards.
• Interest in waste‑based processes and converting waste into valuable feedstocks for fuels, chemicals and materials.
• Strong communication skills with colleagues, clients and contractors.
• Self‑management and structured work style; project management skills for small and medium projects are an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex technical information to experts and non‑technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel domestically and abroad.
