Job Description

Were looking for a Senior Cobol Developer/Architect for a project in the banking industry.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of software solutions.
2. Implement and enforce quality standards and procedures (like quality gates, code formatters, check styles, etc.).
3. Drive innovation in architectural design and development practices.
4. Propose and implement improvements to existing systems and processes.
5. Establish and manage development (including static and unit testing).
6. Work closely with stakeholders, including Team Architects and Developers.
7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
8. Oversee the implementation, code reviews and test coverage to ensure adherence to best practices.
9. Lead and mentor a team of Developers.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of experience in good development practice;
2. Proficiency in development lifecycle tools (e.g., Bitbucket, SonarQube, GitLab, IBM Software Analyzer );
3. Experience with COBOL , and other relevant technologies;
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to identify and troubleshoot development and architectural issues;
6. Experience in optimizing unit and integration testing done by Developers;
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
8. University/college degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience;
9. Proficiency in English language at a B2+/C1 level .
