Job Description:

Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services, operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Working with a highly talented team, youll play a pivotal role in building and running one of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations.

As a Senior Engineer specializing in Oracle Cloud, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust and scalable cloud solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our cloud infrastructure aligns with business goals and operates efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities

1. Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions.
2. Architect cloud environments to meet business and technical requirements, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
3. Deploy and manage OCI services, including computing, storage, networking, and database solutions.
4. Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
5. Monitor and optimize the performance and cost of cloud infrastructure.
6. Conduct regular assessments and implement improvements to ensure efficient use of resources.
7. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and operations, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud solutions.
8. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution.
9. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures.
10. Mentor and train junior engineers and other team members on OCI best practices and technologies.

Requirements

1. 2+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering & technology.
2. Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including a deep understanding of its services and capabilities.
3. Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure in a production environment.
4. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
5. Relevant Oracle Cloud certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional) are highly desirable.
6. At least three years experience in a Platform/SRE or very similar leadership role.
7. Deep expertise in the mentality, processes, and tools needed to deliver SRE principles.
8. Cloud Services experience with Google Cloud / Azure / AWS.
9. Experience with high throughput / low latency / highly available microservice-based architecture.
10. Proficiency in infrastructure, network, database, operating systems, troubleshooting, and remediation.
11. Architecture-level knowledge of Windows and Linux and Infrastructure systems.
12. Experience with production deployment, monitoring, and operational support for enterprise-class applications.
13. Experience working with Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment tools.
14. A strong mix of Software Engineer and Operation Support skills. Eager to learn new technologies and platform patterns.
15. Strong customer service orientation with a focus on managing and exceeding customer expectations.
16. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields or equivalent experience.
17. Unix systems or administration experience.
