We are currently looking for an experienced Backup Engineer (Commvault) to support our client from the banking sector. The role focuses primarily on design, build, and migration activities, with a strong emphasis on migrating DB2 backup data into Commvault.

This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

Senior Backup Engineer (Commvault)

Your responsibilities

• Design and support backup migration strategy into Commvault
• Execute backup data migrations and perform rollback if required
• Validate data integrity and restore capability post-migration
• Support release cycles and restore testing activities
• Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize performance
• Document migration and rollback procedures
• Ensure compliance with data security and retention policies
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure, database, and security teams

Our requirements

• Proven experience supporting backup and data migration activities (execution & validation)
• Strong hands-on expertise with Commvault
• Experience working with DB2 backup environments
• Solid understanding of enterprise backup tools and data protection best practices
• Experience supporting release and restore testing including data validation
• Familiarity with release cycles and change management processes
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Excellent documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams
• Experience in banking or other regulated environments
• Knowledge of ITIL practices
• Experience with scripting for automation
• Exposure to performance optimization in backup environments
• Experience in hybrid infrastructure setups
