This is a hands-on role for a back-end engineer who wants to be part of flat-structure organization. Location: 100% remote work possible; however, candidates who can work hybrid from the Warsaw office are preferred. responsibilities : Design and develop scalable and maintainable backend systems using JVM languages (Java/Scala/Kotlin) and RESTful APIs Implement and maintain cloud-native solutions using cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and microservices architecture Utilize dependency injection frameworks (Spring/Spring Boot) and ensure adherence to security standards Write and automate unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, ensuring high-quality code and reliable delivery pipelines Implement monitoring and tracing tools (e.g., Prometheus, Open Tracing) and work with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes Collaborate in an agile environment, contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle Stay updated on emerging technologies, driving innovation and adopting best practices requirements-expected : Professional experience working in an agile, dynamic and customer facing environment (min. 5+ years) Recent hands-on professional experience (actively coding) as a back-end engineer Recent experience with using a JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin, preferably Java 8+) Understanding of RESTful APIs and web technologies Understanding of relational databases Experience in all the stages of software development lifecycle (requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release and support) A solid approach to writing unit level tests using mocking frameworks, as well as automating component, integration and end-to-end tests Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, agile environment within a geographically distributed team Ability to focus on promptly addressing customer needs Ability to work within a diverse and inclusive team Technically curious, eager to learn, versatile and solution oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (min.
