Verita HR Polska is a Human Resources service provider operating under number 5694. We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Clients behalf for a person in the following role:

Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical expertise to fellow development team members.
2. Analyse and design effective solutions to business problems; research and prototype alternative technologies; and maintain awareness of business technology strategies, departmental standards and reuse opportunities.
3. Partner with globally distributed business users, product owners, architects and cross-functional IT teams.
4. Collaborate within an Agile development team to complete all SDLC activities from clarifying user requirements through to system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, DevOps and production support.
5. Design and build modern application back ends based on micro-services.
6. Work directly with business users during UAT execution phases and beyond.
7. Develop scalable and secure cloud-based solutions utilising a combination of open-source and Google cloud-native services.

Requirements:

1. University Degree (or above) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. 5+ years of commercial experience developing scalable software solutions in Java.
3. Strong experience of building containerised micro-services with Docker; demonstrable skill in applying design patterns, SOLID and Clean Architecture principles.
4. Either prior experience of, or willingness to learn, Python.
5. Enthusiasm to learn all technologies used by the team’s products and SDLC, and follow true DevSecOps principles (You Build It, You Run It).
6. Passion for engineering, with a focus on quality, automation and security; experience in Junit and CI/CD toolchains.
7. Good written and spoken English communication skills.
