Red Sky is a #StartupStudio with +18 years of experience developing IT tech & products. We are a strategic partner of theTar Heel Capital Pathfinder fund. We cooperate through a unique business model that combines the skills of a startup studio and a venture capital fund. We operate using the #VentureBuilding formula. Based on experts experience, we create IT solutions and support promising startups.

As a Senior Backend Developer , you will:

• Handle complex projects with ambiguous timelines and dependencies.

• Absorb information during project handovers to become self-sufficient in managing tasks.

• Proactively identify and resolve potential roadblocks.

• Respond promptly to external inquiries and stay on top of assigned tasks.

• Independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Prepare proof of concepts (POCs) and create basic technical documentation to align teams.

Main responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain basic technical documentation , including

  • API Documentation (Swagger, ReadMe.io).

  • Infrastructure and Component Diagrams (at a level less detailed than L4 but more comprehensive than nothing).

• Work in custom or minimal-framework environments, focusing on improvement rather than dependence on full frameworks like Symfony.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills :

• A self-organized, technically skilled individual who avoids over-engineering solutions.

• Advanced stage of growth in understanding the balance of complexity vs. simplicity (e.g., past the "valley of despair" on the Dunning-Kruger effect curve).

• Proficient in integrating and building internal and external APIs.

• Experienced in starting projects from scratch, with strong architectural design skills.

• Comfortable joining a project as an Individual Contributor (IC) rather than enhancing an existing system gradually.

• Capable of independently managing and delivering tasks, systems, and contributions that align with team goals.

• Strong communication skills, with a results-oriented and efficiency-driven mindset.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• At least 5 years of experience in PHP, with continued interest in its application.

• Experience with other programming languages, with RustLang being a notable example.

• Some basic knowledge of DevOPS, Terraform and Kubernetes

Workflow:

• Flexible work hours with minimal mandatory meetings.

• Task-oriented work structure managed via JIRA or equivalent tools.

Tech Stack:

• Core Frameworks and Libraries: React.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS

• Languages and Tools: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3

• State Management: SWR, React-Query (others are a plus: Redux, Zustand)

• Testing Frameworks: Jest, React Testing Library (preferred)

• APIs and Integrations: GraphQL, REST APIs

• Version Control and CI/CD: Git, Github Actions
