Senior Automation Test Lead
We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Lead to take ownership of quality assurance across complex applications. This role combines hands‑on automation, leadership in QA processes, and close collaboration with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure the highest‑quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously enhance manual and automated test suites as the product evolves
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests using Java and modern automation frameworks
- Lead API and database testing activities, including executing database queries
- Collaborate closely with product managers, development leads, test leads, and production support teams
- Validate not only technical flows but also end‑to‑end business transactions, providing meaningful insights
- Apply SDLC and QA methodologies, including defect tracking and change management
- Drive continuous improvement in QA standards, processes, and practices
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Java and API testing
- Extensive automation experience using Selenium or Cypress (Cypress preferred)
- Hands‑on experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)
- Solid understanding of database testing
- Proven knowledge of QA processes, methodologies, and tools
- Ability to lead by example and influence quality practices across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile environments, managing QA cycles within sprints
- Strong understanding of functional, integration, and regression testing
- Experience supporting UAT cycles and regression testing with product teams
- Ability to build reliable automated test suites integrated with CI and/or nightly builds
- Basic understanding of performance testing concepts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to efficiently triage and prioritise defects
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, distributed development environment
Senior‑Level Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to essential QA procedures
- Help define and improve operating standards and testing processes
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in functional and/or automation testing
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Clear, concise, written and verbal communication skills
- Detail‑oriented, disciplined, and proactive
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
