Senior ATR Accountant – Boston Scientific

Role Purpose
Performs a variety of complex duties in general accounting such as analyzing accounts, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and performing the monthly financial close and consolidation, external and internal reporting, monitoring SOX/internal control requirements, support audits and continually identifies ways to improve and streamline processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute month/quarter/year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate close and financial report preparation.
- Oversee financial and accounting processes and work closely with finance teams and GBS teams, with a high focus on controlling balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries:
- Resolve month-end discrepancies and connect with counterparts to maintain clean balances.
- Optimize current financial accounting process in coordination with stakeholders.
- Comply with KPIs and OPIs as defined by GBS.
- Drive compliance in all finance-related matters and ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and GAAP principles.
- Support internal and external audits and audit-related accounting matters (SOX, CA&C).
- Apply LEAN methodologies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
- Participate in implementing quality requirements in all aspects of the financial process.
- Identify and implement process improvement and standardization.
- Ensure all activities comply with legal demands, ethical standards and the Internal Quality.
- Desktop procedures creation and maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting, Business Economics, or related field.
- 3‑5 years of similar experience in the General Ledger area.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
- SAP experience. Hyperion and Cadency experience will be an additional asset.
- SAP S4 Hana experience will be an additional asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on building relationships.
- Self‑motivated yet a team player.
- Continuous improvement attitude.
