Senior Accounting Specialist

Location: Kraków

Main Responsibilities:

  • Posting purchase invoices in accordance with the applicable procedures and Polish VAT/CIT/WHT tax rules.
  • Supervising the completeness of purchase invoices and the circulation of documents in the company’s workflow, as well as cooperating with Procurement in this area and resolving issues.
  • Analyzing and controlling the GL accounts to the extent assigned.
  • Participating in the preparation of financial reports according to Polish Accounting Standards and US GAAP (for statutory reporting purposes and consolidation).
  • Preparing data for other internal and external purposes.
  • Cooperating with auditors, suppliers, customers, tax advisors, and Tax Authorities.
  • Developing knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and interpretations related to accounting and financial reporting according to US GAAP and Polish Accounting Standards.

Key Requirements:

  • University degree in economics.
  • Very good command of English (at least B2).
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • The ability to think analytically.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability in carrying out entrusted tasks.
  • Knowledge of the SAP system (ECC and/or S4 HANA).

Job Description:

The person employed in this position will be part of the department responsible for providing accounting services to Polish and foreign affiliates of CANPACK Group. The Senior Accounting Specialist will be responsible for various accounting matters relating to one of our entities, by executing or supporting accounting processes related to its activities, including invoice processing and General Ledger accounting, ensuring the correctness of records in accordance with Polish Accounting Standards and internal control framework. The Specialist will also be responsible for preparing reports for external and internal purposes and other duties related to accounting matters. Constant contact with foreign companies requires a very good command of English. Frequently prepared Ad-Hoc reports will require knowledge of MS Office (mainly Excel) at an intermediate/advanced level.
