Senior Accountant (m/w/d)
This full‑time, permanent position can be 100% remote from Poland, or you may choose to work from one of our offices in Poland.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the administration, bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements for various German companies
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year‑end closings
- Prepare interim accounts on behalf of the client as necessary
- Liaise and interact with clients, other offices and client advisors, in order to prepare the financial statements
- Support the audit of financial statements (where required)
- Support the preparation of VAT / CIT returns (where required)
- Support the preparation of financial reports (Local GAAP, US GAAP or IFRS) (where required)
- Record the working hours/client in the time billing system according to the objectives set
Coaching and Leadership
- Share your knowledge and experience with your colleagues
- Coach and review the work of other team members
- Be a buddy for new joiners in the team, in order to train and guide them
Attributes/Technical Skills
- Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients and third parties including lawyers, bankers, tax advisors and notaries
- Be a team player and be supportive towards your colleagues
- Take initiative by proactively following up on daily matters
- Anticipate potential queries and issues; address these queries in a timely manner by informing the responsible Senior Manager, Accountant and/or Relationship Manager
- Be a role model to less senior colleagues in terms of professionalism and behaviour
- Ensure that client deadlines are met
- Adhere to internal procedures at all times
Relevant Experience
- Strong knowledge of German GAAP; IFRS, consolidation and/or US GAAP would be an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with a professional services firm
- Excellent communication and organisational skills in order to meet tight deadlines
- Strong relationship management skills
- Proactive with a client‑service orientated attitude
- Ability to develop and grow our commercial business activity
Education and Professional Qualification
- University degree in Accounting/Finance (ACCA-qualified or part qualified would be a distinct advantage)
