The Scrum Master will work as part of the PPG Automotive Refinish global IT team supporting the delivery of two data analytics and software solutions. Applicants for the position will be expected to work with geographically diverse delivery teams to lead agile teams with scrum processes and scrum meetings, reporting, troubleshooting and problem resolution to effectively manage project related to new business and product initiatives. 


Responsible for facilitating a cross functional agile collaborative team in iterative technology development including:

  • Removes impediments and serves as a servant leader.
  • Facilitates and serves the team.
  • Facilitates daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings.
  • Know and understand the Scrum process and your role within it.
  • Maximize the benefits of the Scrum process.
  • Be empowered to make decisions and deliver business value.
  • Build trust with your team.
  • Work closely with your stakeholders and your team.
  • Actively participate in the Scrum Master Community of Practice
  • Supports delivery of Stories and Features at the local team level Exempt Job


Description

  • Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required)
  • Introduces new and advanced practices to improve the team and their delivery throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Displays ability to work in a DevOps environment
  • Provides visibility into delivery targets, commitments and progress
  • Highly organized with the ability to plan and prioritize tasks as well as clarify goals and actions to achieve tasks.
  • Agile & Technical Learning: Actively seeks and participates in a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, classroom training and independent study to further develop self and community.


Qualifications

  • A four year degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years direct experience in working in an agile methodology as a Scrum Master or Agile team member
  • Ability to resolve conflict
  • Analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Can foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels
  • Ability to act as an effective team member
  • Possess emerging coaching skills and may coach other team members
  • Must be comfortable working remotely and lack of face to face time with colleagues and managers
