Job Summary
To act as the Local Process Owner for processes and risks defined under Data Risk (Data Quality, Data Privacy, Data Sovereignty, Records Management and Responsible AI). Key responsibilities include the governance, risk / controls & regulatory requirements, Data Governance Standards implementation, business transformation, operating model & related change requirements, Data Domain owner for SCB AG data. The agenda includes defining and running the SCB AGs data governance and data steward structure, interlinkage with the respective responsible parties at SCB Group level and ensuring that SCB AGs needs are properly reflected in the various group initiatives and programmes applicable to SCB AG.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain the SCB AG Data Governance Standard, including the respective governance framework.
- Ensure Business and Functions strategy and execution support requirements are met as articulated in the respective SCB AG strategy documents, objectives and as subsequently identified as priorities in response to changing circumstances.
- Identify opportunities to optimise processes and systems agenda.
- Maintaining a Data landscape for SCB AG.
- Ensure Front-line awareness of key operational data related changes impacting clients, RMs, front office staff and the broader operations community teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise to deliver potential solutions to mitigate risks in this domain to SCB AG stakeholders. Embed new policy and processes into BAU after effectively engaging the network.
- Manage end to end updates and improvements for key processes based on data and information from multiple sources and seek to drive efficiency in the processes, whilst ensuring an appropriate Risk lens is maintained.
- Undertake Data Domain Ownership responsibilities for the SCB AG domains including giving input to the IT outsourcing governance, to mitigate Data Risk
- Drive strategy and execution of data governance programs within legal entity, manage decisions, review emerging risks, with an escalation path to appropriate country/legal entity governing bodies and regional Chief Data Officer.
- Be local point of escalation of any issues and drive implementation and remediation within the country legal entity, e.g.: Data Quality, Protection and Privacy, Storage, Retention and Destruction, Use.
- With respect to data-centric regulations, including but not limited to the EU AI Act, BCBS239, GDPR, DORA, MIFID2 Record Keeping and others as identified, provide leadership in SCB AG to comply with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and practices as defined by internal and external requirements.
- Running / being involved for SCB AG projects like EU AI Act, DORA etc.
Skills and Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk governance frameworks & quality framework and processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Data Management and Governance.
- Experienced in GDPR implementation and maintenance with (an entity of) an international financial institution.
- Good understanding of data architecture principles and best practice.
- Good understanding of data sovereignty concepts which include but not limited to cross border data movements and data localisation.
- Understanding of AI/ML techniques and risk/governance practices within Financial Services.
- Proactive and positive with the ability to make good/sound decisions and use independent judgement.
- Project and Programme Management skills to monitor specific projects and take ownership of issues/ tasks.
- Knowledge of the Global regulatory environment and the ongoing developments.
- Proven ability to use various prioritisation and decision-making techniques.
- Proven ability to refine and breakdown the backlog of work for teams to consume and deliver outcomes.
- Effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to create effective work relationships across functions & borders.
- Interpersonal skills in networking, influencing and decision taking, good presentation, time management and negotiation skills.
- Assertive, tenacious and willing to challenge when required.
- Product Owner certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
