SAS Tester / Data Quality Specialist

We are looking for meticulous and experienced SAS Testers to support large-scale data and analytics initiatives. The role focuses on validating complex data transformations, ensuring reporting accuracy and delivering high-quality testing across modern and legacy SAS environments, including Big Data platforms.
A key objective of this role is to verify that datasets generated by SAS programs executed in a new environment using the Altair compiler are fully consistent with outputs from the existing SAS environment, while maintaining equal or better performance levels.

Key responsibilities:
- Creating, maintaining, and executing test strategies, test plan,s and detailed test cases for SAS-based data solutions
- Performing data reconciliation and validation between source systems and target environments to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Working closely with development teams to understand business and technical requirements and convert them into effective test scenarios
- Executing functional, regression and system tests for SAS programs and ETL workflows
- Validating data processing logic by analysing large datasets in Big Data environments such as Hadoop or Hive
- Recording test outcomes, identifying defects and preparing clear, structured reports for stakeholders
- Managing and monitoring job execution using Control-M
- Supporting troubleshooting activities and cooperating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution
- Using Linux command-line tools and scripting where applicable (not mandatory but highly beneficial)
Required skills & experience:
- Practical knowledge of testing frameworks and structured testing approaches
- Strong hands-on experience with SAS programming, including:
- Base SAS
- SAS Macros
- SAS SQL
- SAS Enterprise Guide
- DI Studio
- Stored Processes
- SCL
- SAS E-Miner
- Experience in data validation and reconciliation across multiple systems
- Solid understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts and data quality principles
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, HP ALM)
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and business teams
Nice to have:
- Exposure to Altair tools (Workbench, Hub, SLC)
- Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Hive
- Experience in the banking or financial services sector
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks used for data validation
