As a senior developer, you will be instrumental in delivering functionality on a system calculating Expected Credit Loss, which forms part of the IFRS9 accounting standards. This system runs on an Oracle Exadata platform, so strong SQL and PL/SQL skills are a must, and knowledge of Informatica would be beneficial. Previous banking experience in the area of IFRS9 would also be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work within a project team to help deliver IT change within the regulatory accounting space.
  2. Work closely with the project team and Finance on change and development tasks.
  3. Develop new functionality or enhancements using Oracle database technologies including PL/SQL based packaged procedures, functions, VPD, views, materialised views, common database APIs, SQL*Loader routines, etc.
  4. Ensure database development is in-line with modern Oracle database development practices and that database optimisation, throughput, scale, and efficiency have been factored into the design of the build.
  5. Analyse financial data, run queries, and provide summarised extracts to business analysts.
  6. Document development through technical design documents, installation documents, unit test cases, etc.
  7. Provide timely updates to stakeholders regarding progress and status of issues.
  8. Work with Oracle support, raising SRs if required and providing diagnostic information when needed.
  9. Ensure all development is compliant with MUSI change control and information risk policies.
  10. Communicate with wider technology teams to ensure fixes or enhancements are executed in a controlled and coordinated manner.

Requirements

  1. Extensively worked with database management systems such as Oracle and be considered an expert in this field.
  2. A strong understanding of database languages including SQL*Plus & PL/SQL. Ideally have experience with working on Financial accounting systems.
  3. Strong experience working with interfaces and a good appreciation of ETL techniques, ideally Informatica.
  4. Involved with project implementations with a solid understanding of the project life cycle and different implementation techniques.
  5. Pay great attention to detail and be client-driven with a focus on delivery and milestones.
  6. Exceptional communication skills, able to converse with a wide variety of stakeholders including department heads.
  7. Exposure to scheduling software such as Control-M, Autosys, Tivoli, etc.
