Job Purpose, Dimension and Scope
The Transportation Manager is responsible for improving customer service by achieving performance excellence in the transport activities while balancing costs and service. He/she directs, coordinates, and oversees tasks and operations within the AFEMEA transport organization, managing the efficiency of the operational triangle SC/CS, 4PL and procurement. He/she ensures legal requirements for transport are met. He/she reports to the Logistics & CoE Director of AFEMEA and is a member of the AFEMEA SC Management Team. Collaboration with Manufacturing, Customer Service, 4PL and Procurement teams is expected.
Principal Accountabilities
Main Responsibilities
- Strengthen customer service by improving logistics performance
- Manage logistics operations, both internal and external
- Management of business escalations with visibility on issues and actions for stakeholders
- Drive discussions in service meetings to be action-oriented, efficient, and with fast resolution of actions
- Support BU SC Managers with escalations, new requirements, network changes, and action resolution
- Support 4PL when central logistics is needed to drive AFEMEA topics and report to Amcor
- In collaboration with procurement, participate in transport tenders representing Supply Chain within defined timelines and processes; drive post go-live support
- Represent Supply Chain in monthly performance reviews and QBRs with strategic carriers and 4PLs
- Drive standardisation and simplification through new or changing processes
- Identify best practices and roll out across BUs/Plants
- Prepare high-quality, concise logistics reporting (service & costs)
- Monitor and analyse transport performance and collaborate with stakeholders to implement improvement plans
- Monitor progress of ongoing improvement projects and track benefits realization
- Present findings, ideas, and improvement plans to the SC Management team
- Motivate, support, and lead logistics teams at sites while implementing AFEMEA processes
- Identify, develop, and manage Logistics SMEs in the AFEMEA network
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on supply improvement projects

- Decrease overdue actions owned by SC

Qualifications/Requirements
- Formal Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Business, Logistics, Science, or similar
- 10 years overall operational experience in Supply Chain, including 5 years in logistics-related roles
- Strong change management, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent level of English
- Proven competency with information tools
- Comfortable with change and ambiguity
- Strong organizational capabilities and communication skills
