Regional Business Enablement Lead UK/EU/CE

Your responsibilities

  • Represent GPS Operations in various regional, country and Line of Business governance forums.
  • Establish effective relationships with appropriate stakeholders across GPS Operations, Lines of Business and functions. Liaise with the Regional Heads of GPS Operations, GPS Business, Line of Business (CIB, IWPB, HTS, MSS, and others) and partner teams (including Tech, Compliance, Financial Crime, Transformation) in the region to optimize processes, ensuring HSBC is fully compliant with all regulations and policies whilst maintaining client focus.
  • Own and oversee feedback, escalations and complaints for GPS Ops, driving focus on client experience in the region, working closely with global counterparts. Drive alignment of the GPS Ops processes and model in line with business objectives and client experience – supporting GPS Ops Head and stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
  • Direct client engagement regarding implementation and removing process friction; balancing transparency and client support with strong adherence to policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with counterparts in other sites, to effectively manage operational risk, workforce requirements, and tactical and strategic objectives.
  • Influence, direct and oversee delivery of creative client-focused solutions, in collaboration with business, risk stewards, technology and operations; challenging status quo to advance business objectives while remaining within organisational risk appetite. Define and direct implementation of best-fit operational model for new products, and in response to regulatory change.
  • Indirect management of Tech, Financial Crime and Operations to ensure effective delivery of key change programs. Support key initiatives within a challenging environment and to tight timeframes. Work effectively to deliver high levels of quality and accuracy required for this space
  • Apply domain experience and strong product knowledge to support and evaluate business analysis tasks to contribute and develop appropriate solutions. Candidate should be comfortable supporting multiple projects and work items simultaneously
  • Work closely with the UK & Europe Regional GPS Operations team and contribute to deliverables beyond the Business Enablement remit. Be actively involved in all matters related to UK & Europe Regional GPS Operations, and remain flexible to shoulder regional responsibilities

Our requirements

  • Knowledge of sanctions screening and payment investigations, including knowledge of relevant regulations and a clear understanding of their impact on financial transactions
  • A high level of understanding of the construct and flow of SWIFT and local equivalent transaction messages (Payments, Trade and Securities) within a banking institution
  • University degree in related field or commensurate practical experience
  • Background experience in HSBC or with global top tier Financial Institution, Programme Delivery and Process improvement
  • Good working knowledge of functional area in an operational or consulting capacity
  • Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with business partners.
  • Ability to bring analytical rigor and structure to poorly defined problems.
