Job Description
Purpose Statement:
The Record to Report (RTR) Controller is responsible for the RTR process for dedicated Affiliate(s), as well as coordination and oversight of accounting activities for this Affiliate. Acts as the first point of contact regarding process matters and technical accounting expertise in US GAAP.
The RTR Controller drives and coordinates the financial close process, prepares and reviews journal entries and reconciliations, provides financial and accounting analysis, resolves operational issues related to processes and accounting, and prepares BS, P&L, and DSO planning.
The RTR Controller reports to the Regional Accounting & Reporting Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain US GAAP and local ledgers, including the preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Drive and own the financial close process and calendar for the Affiliate or cluster of affiliates, including execution of related SOX controls.
- Support financial and accounting analysis involving complex transactions such as general accounting, fixed assets, intercompany, and financial reporting activities.
- Prepare and review management and statutory reports, including quarterly Balance Sheet reviews with business-oriented commentaries.
- Prepare the annual entity plan, Balance Sheet, P&L, and DSO plans; compare the plan to actuals and analyze variances focusing on business drivers.
- Ensure accounting treatment aligns with Group policies for Affiliates.
- Provide guidance to Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners for resolving accounting issues.
- Support group, statutory, and internal audits; act as liaison for RTR-related queries.
- Assist in the Statutory/Fiscal Reports process with third parties, where applicable.
- Work closely with the FSS Regional Chief Accountant and Finance Directors of assigned affiliates to ensure ledger accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Propose and implement initiatives to improve process efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, planning, and financial analysis.
- Experience in an international environment; pharma sector experience is a plus.
- ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel and SAP.
- Professional proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for all management levels.
- Self-motivated with strong follow-up skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective interaction with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills for coordinating multiple cross-divisional projects.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and drive for excellence.
