Team/Role Overview
The Reconciliation & Proofing Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data through diligent reconciliation processes. This role requires analytical thinking, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to contribute to process improvements, all while maintaining high standards of compliance and risk management.
What You’ll Do
- Supporting the team in providing a high‑quality depositary monitoring service to ensure that clients comply with regulatory rules and corporate trusteeship responsibilities.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with clients and their third‑party administrators and communicating with them in a professional, clear and concise manner.
- Clarifying and resolving inconsistencies between data reflected by Citi and supplied by customers or third‑party vendors.
- Timely answering to standard and non‑standard questions related to the duties performed by maintaining an appropriate level of business correspondence.
- Coordinating the onboarding of new clients, processes and solutions within the team and department.
- Maintaining and updating static data based on incoming requests.
- Initiating and executing technical improvements within the team and department.
- Analyzing and redesigning current processes within the team to gain productivity efficiencies, identify recurring reconciliation issues, and contribute to the development of process improvements.
What We’ll Need From You
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Solid knowledge and application of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other comprehensive accounting bases.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply professional judgment, and resolve complex issues.
- Developed communication and interpersonal skills, capable of exchanging complex/sensitive information.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within Financial Services (ideally in the investment funds area, reconciliation, fund accounting).
- Advanced English proficiency – C1 written and spoken.
- Ability to work in a structured, high‑volume, time‑sensitive environment, multitasking while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and financial reporting.
