Overview
R&D Product Compliance Team Lead, Europe at ABB. The role focuses on coordinating Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), standards and certifications, and material compliance within the IEC LV Motors HUB Europe. It is a leadership role that contributes to product sustainability, regulatory alignment, and documentation integrity across ABB’s European operations. This position is based in Finland (Vaasa) or Poland (Aleksandrow Lodzki) with a hybrid work model.
Your Role And Responsibilities
- Lead LCA activities for motor platforms and integrate carbon footprint analysis into mechanical and electrical design workflows; provide customer support on LCA for production units.
- Ensure product compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, EU directives); manage certification lifecycle and collaborate with technical committees.
- Oversee ECHA SCIP registration, support production units, and ensure material traceability (e.g., copper, e-steel, aluminum) used in motor designs.
- Maintain and improve documentation processes for certificates, declarations of conformity, and compliance; support internal report requirements.
- Collaborate with sustainability, product maintenance, and quality teams to align compliance with product lifecycle and innovation goals.
- Support internal training initiatives on standards, certifications, and compliance topics; participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and regulatory briefings.
- Coordinate with the Global ETP tool team and other stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications For The Role
- B. Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Proven experience in Lifecycle Assessment, compliance documentation, and certification processes.
- Familiarity with EU regulations, IEC standards, and tools like SAP, Teamcenter, Windchill, Adept, and Ansys.
- Proactive, systematic, and collaborative approach to work.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and coach junior team members.
- Fluent English and either Finnish or Polish (location-dependent) is required.
