Responsibilities
- Contribute to R&D projects from the initial concept stage to final product rollout
- Analyze power converter systems, develop and assess modulation, control and protection concepts
- Perform converter and system-level modeling and simulation, and feasibility and benchmarking studies
- Analyze impact of power electronics on magnetics (e.g. transients on transformers)
- Program and test control and protection software on real-time simulators - hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)
- Develop system design concepts and tools
- Support customer project tendering and execution activities
- Organize and execute laboratory testing as well as on-site commissioning at a domestic and international level
Background
- MSc or PhD Degree (University/University of Applied Sciences) in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics and Control
- Hands-on experience on at least one project including power electronics design, control and testing.
- Industrial experience with Power Converters and/or Control Software is an advantage
- Knowledge of magnetics, especially transformers, is a plus
- Proficiency in the use of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS and PSCAD
- Goal-oriented mind-set with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Critical thinking and excellent reporting, presentation, and communication skills
- Team spirit with the capacity to work independently
- Working proficiency in English. Knowledge of German and French language is a plus.
- Experience with codesys/python programming is an advantage
- Experience with FPGA programming is an advantage
- Experience with working in an Agile development team is an advantage
