About Us
AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team is looking for a Railway Designer to join our team in Warsaw, Poland. EC is AECOM’s primary vehicle for workshare, operating across geographic boundaries and time-zones to provide technical expertise, accelerate delivery and keep AECOM competitive. We work on stages from feasibility studies up to detailed designs on a wide range of projects, with clients from private and public sectors, including long-term Framework Agreements and Design and Build commissions. Our office has an established track record of delivering railway designs for many years in the USA and Canada, and you may have the opportunity to work on iconic Transportation projects as part of the EC Europe Team (Poland/Spain).
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a linear infrastructures team with other designers at the same functional level that can be from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India, etc.). Undertakes non-routine, medium complex projects supported by EC.
- Coordinate and lead small design teams focused on railway design for a specific project.
- Perform analysis and design of linear infrastructures projects covering railway geometric design, P-Way, track design, etc.
- Work autonomously within established procedures and practices, with latitude to determine work priorities.
- Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings, including participation in interdisciplinary reviews.
- Ensure that project technical goals, milestones and budgets are met.
- Prepare complex project deliverables using a team of junior technical and support staff, providing supervision to and mentoring less experienced staff.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of working on railway designs and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams (≥7 years).
- Experience with international regulations and standards (e.g., AASHTO; AREMA; Australian Codes).
- Proficiency in geometrical design using at least one software package: OpenRail, Rail Track, Civil 3D.
- Proven commitment to Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.
- Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorable.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering.
- US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorable.
