Your Mission:

As the Quality & Release Lead, you will be the cornerstone for ensuring the reliability, consistency, and predictability of our software delivery process. You will establish and lead the Quality & Release function within OBI Smart Technologies in Katowice, building a team around you to manage quality assurance, release governance, and continuous improvement across multiple product teams. Your mission is to take full ownership of quality and release processes and empower the teams while ensuring alignment and reliability across the entire ecosystem.

You will work closely with product and engineering stakeholders in Germany and collaborate directly with business representatives to ensure that releases meet both technical and business expectations. You come from a hands‑on background - you know how to build, test, and deliver software, and combine this with the communication and coordination skills of a strong leader who connects teams and drives alignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Quality & Release Management function within OBI Smart Technologies Poland.
• Design and implement release processes, quality gates, and test strategies that ensure predictable and reliable delivery across multiple teams and platforms.
• Partner with product owners, engineering leads, and business stakeholders to align release schedules and priorities.
• Define and track KPIs for release success, test coverage, and quality improvement.
• Support the introduction and scaling of automation and continuous delivery practices across teams.
• Act as the main point of contact for release‑related communication, ensuring transparency and coordination across distributed teams.
• Mentor and grow a team of QA and release specialists, fostering a culture of ownership and excellence.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed university studies in computer science comparable courses of study.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, QA, or release management, ideally within complex, multi‑team environments.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern development practices (e.g., Kubernetes, cloud platforms, microservices).
• Strong understanding of SDLC, DevOps, and agile delivery models.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and business domains.
• Fluent in English and Polish; German language skills are a plus.
• Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and accountability.
• Openness to work in hybrid model and visit Katowice office on regular basis.

Employment Contract

19 000 - 24 000 PLN gross/month
