Join to apply for the QA Manager role at Capital.com

We are seeking an experienced QA Manager to lead and transform our Quality Assurance function. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on evolving our QA strategy — from manual testing to automation-first practices — and embedding a shift-left quality culture across the development lifecycle. You will be pivotal in scaling quality processes, aligning teams under a unified QA vision, and driving innovation in how we ensure platform integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the transformation of QA practices across the organisation
  • Drive the transition from manual testing towards modern, scalable test automation frameworks
  • Promote and embed a shift-left approach by integrating QA earlier in the software development lifecycle
  • Define and execute a QA roadmap aligned with our automation and quality evolution goals
  • Act as the central point of QA leadership, aligning testing strategies across multiple engineering domains
  • Own quality outcomes by setting measurable objectives and KPIs for product and process integrity
  • Champion best practices in test strategy, test planning, and release readiness assessments
  • Manage and mentor a distributed team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, growth, and continuous improvement
  • Establish quality standards across teams, providing support to evolve manual testers into automation-focused professionals
  • Collaborate with engineering leads to ensure quality is everyones responsibility
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of test automation strategies, tools, and frameworks
  • Work with developers, DevOps, and QA to integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor automation coverage and effectiveness, identifying areas for expansion and optimisation
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Compliance teams to ensure quality is built-in from the start
  • Act as a bridge between domain QA teams to ensure consistent execution of testing approaches and aligned goals
  • Facilitate QA alignment across time zones and departments, ensuring streamlined communication and visibility

Requirements

  • FinTech background: Strong familiarity with regulatory and quality expectations in financial services
  • Distributed team leadership: Experience managing cross-regional QA teams with consistent outcomes
  • Automation: Expertise with tools like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured, Postman, Pact and experience creating or scaling automation frameworks
  • API & CI/CD proficiency: Solid understanding of REST, Web Services testing, and automation within CI/CD environments
  • Analytical mindset: Ability to use quality metrics and insights to inform testing strategies and process improvements
  • Agile delivery: Deep familiarity with Agile and iterative development environments
  • Communication: Effectively explain QA priorities and technical matters to diverse stakeholders
  • Problem-solving: Thrive in identifying pain points and developing innovative, scalable solutions
  • Accountability: Demonstrated ownership over QA initiatives, coupled with a data-driven, outcome-oriented approach
