Department Overview
Motorola Solutions builds software that makes communication possible worldwide, especially in mission‑critical systems. In our Kraków office we develop and maintain the Motorola Fleet Management software that enables customers – ranging from police and military to federal agencies such as the FBI and CIA, hospitals, and airports – to keep their fleets of radios operational. Ensuring the quality of this software is paramount and far beyond a typical QA position. You will combine hands‑on testing in our labs with writing sophisticated automation and, crucially, use modern AI tools to convert our vast manual test library into efficient, reliable automated scripts.
Job Description
You will serve as a technical leader ensuring our products meet high quality standards and planning the roadmap for automation of the current environment with the help of AI/ML tools. Your day will involve both hands‑on testing and strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a comprehensive mix of manual and automated test cases.
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable automated test scripts, primarily using Python and Robot Framework.
- Leverage AI/ML tools to convert manual test cases into efficient automated scripts.
- Integrate testing activities with our test management platform (TestRail) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify, document, and track software defects with clarity using our issue‑tracking system (Atlassian JIRA).
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and quality teams.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and strategies.
- Manage server virtualization, including the creation and maintenance of virtual machines.
- Support beta testing at customer sites (EU).
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in a software quality assurance role, with a strong focus on test automation (3+ years).
- Hands‑on experience writing automated tests using Python (experience with Robot Framework is a strong plus) or another object‑oriented scripting language.
- Practical experience applying AI/ML tools to address real‑world testing challenges, such as automated test generation.
- Proficiency in both manual and automated testing methodologies for desktop and web applications.
- Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with hardware (PCs, servers), Windows operating systems, and virtualization set‑ups.
- Knowledge of network configuration, particularly in a laboratory environment.
- ISTQB certification or a similar qualification.
- Availability to work at least 3 days in the office.
Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
- Familiarity with test management tools, specifically TestRail.
- Knowledge of Atlassian tools.
- Experience with continuous integration (CI) systems, such as Jenkins.
- Knowledge of the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern for test automation.
- Experience with specialized hardware such as phones or radio telephones.
