About the project

Join our cutting-edge team developing an AI Agent Platform designed to process and leverage unstructured data for intelligent applications. You will work closely with cloud engineering and AI platform teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions, integrating the latest advancements in Generative AI, RAG solutions, and LLM APIs. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, innovation-driven environment while deploying solutions on leading cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Your responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure APIs and data processing pipelines (e.g., document indexing for RAG solutions).
• Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to deploy, monitor, and optimize solutions on Azure or AWS.
• Integrate backend services with Roche AI Platform APIs and other platform components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve scaling issues, including serverless application limitations, API throttling, and high-volume request handling.
• Apply best practices for software architecture, asynchronous programming, and multithreaded solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve technical challenges.

Our requirements

• 5+ years of Python development experience with expertise in building scalable, secure software solutions.
• Strong understanding of async programming, multithreading, and software design patterns.
• 3+ years of cloud engineering experience with Azure or AWS, including commercial project experience.
• 3+ years of API development experience (RESTful/GraphQL) with high-volume request handling (throttling, rate limiting, authentication).
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD or willingness to learn.
• Comfortable with CLI and basic shell commands.
• Experience with Large Language Model APIs (LLM) and Generative AI frameworks such as LangChain.
• Knowledge of RAG solutions, Terraform, and AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
