The ‘Security Operations’ team within the Product & Services Cyber organization provides advisory/consulting services for all security-related efforts to Motorolas Business Units and owns the Incident Response activities. This role will work closely with business units and the PSIRT lead to track vulnerability reports, analyze for its impact to MSI products and services, works with the appropriate parties to craft security updates, and ultimately deliver those updates out to the organizations customers and partners.technology and business leaders.


Job Description

As a PSIRT (Product Security Incident Response Team) Analyst, you will handle and respond to security incidents related to MSI products or services. You will identify, assess, prioritize, and respond to vulnerabilities or threats that may impact the security of the organization’s offerings. This role is a critical role and a high visibility role that will help in building effective PSIRT to ensure greater product quality. These outcomes not only keep costs down, they also help the brand of Motorola Solutions by showcasing our seriousness about our product’s security.

The ideal candidate is a cyber security expert who takes a pragmatic, risk-based approach to their work, has strong written and oral communications skills, is a team player, has the ability to influence and drive tactical governance and execution of security-related efforts, and stays calm under stress. The candidate must be collaborative in nature, a security mentor to the product and services teams acting as a true enabler of the business and partner to BU leaders and teams, driving security outcomes through influence, and being able to think critically about the risk landscape.


Job Description

  • Analyze security advisories / incidents to determine their impact on Motorola Solutions products or services. 
  • Conduct forensics into security incidents to identify the source of the problem and recommend solutions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, services, customer support, threat intelligence, marketing, and legal, to ensure that security incidents are handled appropriately and effectively.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about security incidents, providing updates and information about the companys response.
  • Develop and maintain PSIRT playbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in security incident tabletop exercises and other training activities to improve the teams preparedness for security incidents
  • Perform service desk activities like incident logging, and maintaining and reporting on metrics.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, cybersecurity or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, Systems Integration, network & communications security. 
  • Understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps frameworks, Appsec, and communication security principles. 
  • Strong technical aptitude (with hands-on experience preferred), including ability to understand technical constructs, extrapolate relevant risk, and formulate tradeoffs; ability to quickly ramp up on technical topics to provide relevant input.
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence, including at executive levels.
