GE Grid Automation unit in Walbrzych, Poland is an emerging and growing business in the field of protection relays, CCS and DCS solutions for distribution, transmission and industry sectors of the energy market. The region in which we are mainly active includes Poland, Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Moldova. We are dynamically introducing the digital substation technology with several success stories in the region behind.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate project design between stakeholders (also multinational).
- Verify the design against local regulations.
- Act as Grid Automation focal point and lead technical discussions with project stakeholders.
- Coordinate calculation of Protection Setpoints.
- Support developing design documentation.
- Lead technical discussions with GE manufacturing units to align client requirements with feasibility.
- Recommend solutions which meet the requirements and secure GE interests.
- Provide technical support for the project management team, as well as sales and tendering.
- Configuration and on-site commissioning of GE P&C solutions.
- Deliver customer trainings (presentations, hands-on training).
- Provide aftersales support for GE clients in the region.
Qualifications
- Education: Technical High School Diploma of a relevant faculty of protection & automation in energy systems; Ph.D will be a plus.
- Experience: Sound and working experience in power systems, specifically transmission, in the field of protection relays.
- Knowledge of HV/MV systems, incl. bus bar applications, standards, specifications, requirements, communication protocols, etc.
- Acquaintance with GE range of HV/MV protection relays (e.g., Micom Px40, Multilin UR, 8 series) would be a plus.
- Experience in computer networks, switches, routers, gateways, etc. would be a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, both external and internal.
- Specific knowledge: Native or fluent Polish; English command to effectively communicate with multinational customers and other GE functions abroad; attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
