Role Overview
The Project Sourcing Analyst will support the end-to-end sourcing and tendering processes for automotive components within both Customer Bid Phase and After-Award Phase. This role combines strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel proficiency, and solid understanding of procurement processes. The Analyst will work closely with Category Manager, engineering teams, finance, and suppliers to ensure efficient preparation, evaluation, and execution of RFQs and tenders.
What you will be doing
Project Sourcing: Customer Bid and After-Award Phase
- Register new customer projects in the RFQ database and manage the sourcing process from customer bid (pre-award) through supplier nomination (after-award)
- Prepare and issue RFQs to the defined supplier panel based on Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and volumes received from the design department
- Collect, verify, and clarify supplier quotations, and prepare cost comparison summaries for Hydro’s customer offers in cooperation with the Category Manager
- Prepare Internal Cost Summaries (ICS) / quotation templates for the Finance Controller
- Support target cost setting, commercial negotiations, and the supplier evaluation and selection process together with the Category Manager
- Execute supplier nomination processes in line with the Awarded Project RFQ Checklist, including documentation and internal alignment
- Handover nominated components to local procurement teams for operational execution
- Maintain, update, and report KPIs related to the bid phase, project nomination, and project closure
Tender & Data Analysis Support
- Prepare tender bid sheets and organize inputs from engineering, quality, and project teams
- Segregate and structure technical data into standardized Excel templates
- Prepare comparison sheets and tender evaluation forms
- Analyse supplier offers and support spend breakdowns, price mapping, and cost driver interpretation
- Deliver analytical input for presentations and commercial recommendations
- Support large, multi-site tenders with advanced data consolidation and spreadsheet automation
- Communicate analytical findings clearly to Category Managers and cross-functional teams to support commercial decision-making
What will make you successful?
Technical Skills
- SUMIFS / INDEX MATCH
- Complex nested formulas
- VBA Macros (automation of tender sheets and RFQ processing)
- Ability to structure and manage large datasets
- Strong analytical, quantitative and organizational skills to manage wide tenders across multiple sites and suppliers with the ability to process a large amount of items, automate worksheets and draw inferences about spend and suppliers
- Ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into actionable strategies
- Comfortable working with imperfect data and making sound decisions under uncertainty while maintaining accuracy and delivering results
- Experience with procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP tools is an advantage
Soft Skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage parallel tenders and strict timelines
- Effective communication and ability to present analytical findings to Category Managers and cross-functional teams
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in data handling
- Proactive mindset and willingness to improve processes through automation and better data organization
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international environment
- Flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and dynamic business needs
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (e.g. project sourcing, purchasing, or RFQ management)
- Advanced English, both spoken and written
- Automotive industry experience will be an advantage
